PRESS RELEASE For Immediate Release March 10, 2020 Media Contact: Claire Elisan projectnolabels@gmail.com 813.438.3537 Project No Labels Hosts 2nd Annual Pride Legacy Awards to Honor Leaders, Bring Awareness to Mental Health, and Kick Off Tampa Pride! Project No Labels will host its 2nd Annual Pride Legacy Awards on Saturday March 21, 2020 at WTR, in the Godfrey Hotel off Courtney Campbell Causeway from 7 PM to 10 PM. The Pride Legacy Awards highlight local leaders, individuals, and businesses dedicating themselves to the LGBTQ+ community through time and/or resources. The theme of this event is “Bridging the Bay for Mental Health.” Project No Labels believes that Tampa Bay is a vibrant community because of its strong leadership and the support of the people they serve. "One of the goals of the evening is to bring together City Mayors, Congressmen and City Leaders to stand in solidarity behind the organization’s mission of making mental wellness attainable for all,” says Project No Labels Founder and CEO, Claire Elisan. “Showing strong bridges throughout the community through its people, leaders and allies is what brings the organization’s mission to life.” Pride Legacy Awards will also serve as a benefit event for the nonprofit’s new mental health program in partnership with Dr. Katie Schubert (Psychotherapist and Board-Certified Sex Therapist) and Steph Ostrow (Clinical Mental Health Counseling Student Intern). The program, dubbed "Dear Self, You Are Worth It”, provides extremely affordable rates for individuals and couples struggling with mental health, gender identity and any other issues life may throw their way. Dr. Schubert and team provide high quality, low-cost, no-insurance, no-prequalification, LGBTQ+ friendly, 1-hour mental health therapy sessions for just $20. “This allows mental wellness to be accessible and attainable for almost anyone, regardless of income,” says Elisan. “Since the program started this January 6, 2020, more than 120 sessions have been booked! We hope everyone will join us on the 21st to support this one-of-a-kind program.” Prior Pride Legacy Award winners include Rick Kriseman “Ally in Action”, Bob Wallace with Love the Golden Rule, Sam Obeid “Flame Bearer” and the Iberian Rooster. This year, several individuals, non-profits and businesses have been nominated. Final voting ends on March 12, 2020. We want the world to see our community for all its glory, vibrance, liveliness, and dedication to living our true selves. Our community is a beautiful one and here at PNL, we like to share this beauty with Tampa Bay and the world. We do so through countless mediums: our amazing volunteerism, activism and voice, creative social gatherings, and by creating a safe atmosphere for everyone regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, color or beliefs. We believe that the things that separate us can also be what unites us, and our mission is to unite. As we work tirelessly to leave a positive, uplifting influence on the Tampa Bay area, we also work hard to combat the darker side that plagues our LGBTQ+ community…. because as we all know, a beautiful rainbow only comes after it endures much rain.
