Meet Dr. Katie Schubert

Hi, my name is Katie Schubert. I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Board Certified Sex Therapist in the state of Florida, and a Nationally Certified Counselor. I've been in private practice since 2015. I specialize in sex and gender therapy, but also work with clients on issues not related to sex and gender therapy. My education includes a doctorate and masters degree from the University of Florida in sociology and gender studies and a masters in clinical mental health counseling from Adams State University.  

 

In 2014, I became a registered yoga teacher and often incorporate yoga philosophy, mindfulness training, and meditation into therapy sessions. 

I have been a university instructor for several years and have experience lecturing on the topics of marriage and families, relationships, sexuality and sexual functioning, gender, and health and well-being. I currently teach at the University of Tampa. 

I periodically write a column for the Tampa Bay Times and have been on several newscasts discussing topics relating to relationships and mental health.

Meet Alyssa Wence, BA

Alyssa (she/her/hers) has experience working with children and adults struggling with a variety of issues. She has worked in a crisis stabilization facility with higher-acuity patients who struggled with depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, adjustment disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar, borderline, suicidal ideation, and self-harm. She uses an eclectic approach to individualize her counseling style to the needs of her clients.

Meet Jay Soto, BA

Jay (he/him/his) works with individuals, couples, and families and has over three years of experiences working with adolescents. He takes a trauma-informed, person-centered approach with a focus on mindfulness and the mind-body connection. Jay encourages self-discovery and helps clients with a variety of struggles including self-esteem, identity, depression, anxiety, trauma, and more. As a queer person himself, Jay is an advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community and strives to foster an inclusive, safe environment for all. 


     He has worked alongside youth with risk-taking behaviors and their families in both Juvenile Justice and preventative settings. Through this experience, he has learned the significance of family role, communication, coping skills, and intergenerational trauma. He believes the client is the expert in their own life and works collaboratively to empower clients to meet their goals and therapeutic needs. If you feel stuck, numb, overwhelmed lost, or just need someone to talk to, Jay would be honored to support you through this time of your life.

Meet Rosangela DeHart, BS

Rosangela (she/her/hers) provides therapeutic support to teens, adults, couples, and families. Born and raised in Brazil, she moved to the U.S. in 2004 and immediately began working to build a new life for herself and has since dedicated her career to helping people reach their highest potential. After marrying a former Marine, she was introduced to the veterans' community. She grew a passion for helping veterans. 


Her experience includes helping clients who struggle with trauma and PTSD, substance use, depression, anxiety, and cultural issues. Taking a holistic approach, she accounts for her clients' mental, emotional, physical, spiritual well-being. She works with clients to identify the root causes of their distress and develop a plan to achieve their goals. Nothing makes her happier than seeing clients change and grow. 

She is committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment for her clients. She is passionate about helping people find balance in their lives and empowering them with the tools they need to create meaningful and lasting changes.

Mary (she/her/hers) works with all ages, couples, families, and groups. She uses a variety of approaches to ensure that clients feel accepted and supported to reach their goals. She works with a myriad of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem, and trauma. As a queer woman, she is passionate about helping others work through issues of identity, belonging, and self-acceptance.
